SARAJEVO, July 27 (FENA) - The House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly (BiH PA) supported today, in the first reading, the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Excise Duties in BiH, which provides for the abolition of excise duties on petroleum products for six months.

This legal solution foresees the possibility for the BiH Council of Ministers to extend its application for another three months after the expiry of that period. In order for excise duties to be abolished, they need to be accepted in the second reading and need to pass another consideration in the House of Peoples.

MP Zlatko Miletić stated that excise duties on petroleum products should have been adopted earlier and that this is a measure that will especially help farmers.

The House of Peoples adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Excise Duties in BiH, proposed by the Council of Ministers of BiH, which equalizes the obligation to pay excise duty for taxpayers who trade in tobacco products with taxpayers who trade in other excise products.
