SARAJEVO, July 27 (FENA) - At today's session, the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH accepted bills on the law on energy and regulation of energy activities in the Federation of BiH, on the law on electricity of the Federation of BiH and on the law on the use of renewable energy sources and efficient cogeneration.
With this set of laws, the Federation of BiH started the reform processes of regulating the energy sector in a way that enables all entities and citizens to be participants in the production of electricity and not just in the consumption.
The prosumer system is being introduced, which implies that the end customer can also be a producer of electricity for his/her own needs as well as for the market.
The Law on Energy and Regulation of Energy Activities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is adopted for the first time and regulates the role and position of the regulator, i.e. the Energy Regulatory Commission (FERK), which is given the authority to regulate all energy activities, electricity, oil, gas and renewable sources.
