SARAJEVO, August 8 (FENA) - A total of 105,359 passengers were transported by rail in the second quarter of this year in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 8,619,534 passenger-kilometers were registered, which is 215.7 percent more passengers than the same period last year, and 179.8 percent more passenger-kilometers.
In rail freight transport in the second quarter, 2,094,555 tons of goods were transported, and 213,621,669 ton-kilometers were registered, which is 0.6 percent more tons of transported goods and 5.2 percent more ton-kilometers compared to the same period last year.
Of this, 2.1 percent less tons of goods were transported in domestic freight transport, and the achieved ton-kilometers were 7.4 percent higher compared to the same period last year.
In international freight transport, 3.2 percent less tons of goods were transported, and the realized ton-kilometers were 9.7 percent less compared to the same period last year, according to data from the FBiH Agency for Statistics.
