BANJA LUKA, August 30 (FENA) - With a peaceful walk in the city center and the exhibition of the International Committee of the Red Cross called "Where are they?", the International Day of Missing Persons was marked in Banja Luka today.

The central event was organized by the Advisory Board of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and very important messages were sent from the Krajina Square, and an appeal was sent to everyone who knows and has information about the locations where the remains of around 7,600 missing persons are located, to finally talk about it and discover the fate of the missing who are still being searched for.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mujo Hadžiomerović, pointed out at the meeting that 80 percent of missing persons have been found so far.

He added that it is once again an opportunity to call on all institutions in BiH to cooperate and exchange all available information that could reveal the whereabouts of the remains of more than 7,000 citizens of BiH in order to finally put an end to this extraordinary issue for the country.

At the meeting in Banja Luka, as the spokeswoman of the Institute, Emza Fazlić, said the victims are not counted by nationality and that the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH has never in that way counted the victims who have been found, i.e., who are still being searched for.

- All victims should be searched for with the same intensity. It is the civilizational and moral obligation of both institutions and individuals to contribute to the improvement of the process of searching for missing persons, especially those who have information about the locations of graves - said Fazlić in a statement to FENA.

The Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH Mladen Živanović, the head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in BiH Elmir Camić, on behalf of the Mayor of Banja Luka Radivoje Majstorović from the Department for Veterans and Disability Protection of the City of Banja Luka, and the Mufti of Banja Luka Nusret ef. Avdibegović addressed the Krajina Square.
