SARAJEVO, October 10 (FENA) - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC BiH) issued an order, at today’s session, to the Main Counting Center to open the bags and recount the official ballots at all regular polling stations in the Republika Srpska for the level of president and vice president of the RS.

President of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Suad Arnautović, said that the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a collegium this morning where it considered a large number of remarks and objections to the course of the election process in the RS for the level of president and vice president of the RS.

“The Commission had access to certain material evidence, such as video materials, documents that undoubtedly prove that the process is so contaminated at this stage that it does not allow the determination of the results of the elections for the level of president and vice president of the RS promptly, by the law,” stated Arnautović.

We should, he added, always bear in mind the provision and definition from the Constitution of BiH, that the state of BiH is a democratic state that functions by the law and is based on free and democratic elections.

“Bearing this in mind, the Central Election Commission has decided to issue an order in the following text: CEC of BIH ex officio orders the Main Counting Center to properly consolidate the results of the elections at the polling stations in the electoral unit of the RS to open the bags with ballots and re-count the ballots and determine the election results from all 2,239 regular polling stations in the RS, including the polling stations in the Brčko District of BiH with the option of voting for the Republika Srpska for the level of president and vice president of the RS,” said Arnautović.

It is also defined that the recount of ballots will be carried out by the provisions of the Rulebook on conducting elections in BiH.

Accredited observers of political parties can be present during the counting, as well as accredited observers for monitoring the work of the Main Counting Center.
