FIPA presents investment opportunities and projects at business forums in Istanbul and Konya

SARAJEVO, October 24 (FENA) - The Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA), headed by director Milica Marković, with the partnership of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of the Republic of Turkey (DEIK) and the chairman of the Turkish-Bosnian-Herzegovinian Business Council, Hasan Topaloglu, and with BiH Ambassador to Turkey Adis Alagić, organized a business forum in Istanbul. 

During the forum, FIPA presented projects from the field of energy, the construction of tourist complexes, the metal-processing sector, and the food production sector. They also presented projects for which Turkish companies expressed interest, and which improve the efficiency of such economic manifestations, FIPA announced.

As a result of this visit to Turkey, a visit of a large Turkish group to Bosnia and Herzegovina was agreed upon, to examine locations and conditions for constructing a solar panel factory.

In cooperation with the City of Konya, Mayor Ugur Ibrahim Altay, Secretary General, Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Konya Ercan Uslu, and the Chamber of Industry of Konya, a business forum was organized in Konya.

FIPA representatives and Ambassador Alagić presented the essential characteristics of the business environment and the advantages of investing in BiH.

Director Marković pointed out that in the last two decades the bilateral relations between the two countries have been significantly improved and that in 2021 Turkey is among the three largest investors in BiH.

The first Free Trade Agreement between BiH and Turkey was signed in 2003, which was expanded and enriched in 2019 and entered into force on August 1, 2021.

She also stated that the lower price of electricity, lower taxes on company profits, and the proximity of the EU market are key factors for the investment of Turkish businessmen in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
