SARAJEVO, December 12 (FENA) – Turkish Higher Education Quality Council and the Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation today at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Sarajevo.
President of the Management Board of the Agency, Suad Kunosić, told FENA that the signing of the memorandum enabled Bosnia and Herzegovina to cooperate and exchange experiences between these two bodies, all with the aim of bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to full membership in the European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).
“We are honored by the arrival of the president of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council, Muhsin Kara, and Council member Yasemin Yelbay Yilmaz. They held a lecture on quality control of higher education. We signed an agreement and exchanged experiences, and the Turkish ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sadik Babur Girgin, was also present,” said Kunosić.
The Memorandum envisages the establishment of stronger partnership relations between the BiH Agency and the Turkish Council, which is already a member of ENQA, and which will join the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) next year, thus becoming a member of the European Accreditation Association, which is also the final goal of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this area.
“Membership of BiH in these agencies is necessary so that BiH diplomas are recognized outside the borders of BiH. It's a long way and we have to fulfill a lot, but this kind of exchange of experiences helps us in that,” added Kunosić.
