SARAJEVO, April 6 (FENA) - Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Refik Lendo sent a congratulatory message to all citizens of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of April 6 - the Day of the City of Sarajevo.
"On the occasion of April 6 - the Day of the City of Sarajevo, I would like to send my most sincere congratulations to all the people of Sarajevo, as well as Bosnians and Herzegovinans. The 6th of April is extremely important not only for the history of the capital, but also for the whole of BiH, because Sarajevo remembers not only the final liberation from the fascist occupiers in 1945, but also the day when the aggression against our country began openly in 1992. The city of Sarajevo was and remains a symbol of resistance and the fight against barbarism and attacks on everything that makes us civilized beings and the world.
Everything that represents man and civilization, that represents life, was attacked. Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina defended themselves and defended themselves and that is the only undeniable truth that will remain written down for ever and ever!
Sarajevo, like our only homeland, the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was, is and always will be!, said Lendo in his congratulatory message, reminding that the city was under siege for more than 1,400 days.
