SARAJEVO, June 12 (FENA) – The People and Justice Party discussed current political issues at the session of its Presidency in Sarajevo and adopted a series of conclusions in which, among other things, the commitment to work on improving the living standards of citizens, but also the commitment to the continuation of the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The importance of state property and the resolution of this issue was emphasized once again, taking into account the fact that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the titleholder of state property, People and Justice (NiP) said in a press release.

As far as the electoral reform is concerned, they emphasize their previously stated principles of removing systemic discrimination in the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, preventing blockades of state institutions, and strengthening the transparency of the electoral process.

The adopted conclusions define that the Presidency of the People and Justice, aware of the seriousness of the socio-economic situation in BiH and the demographic challenges, puts the improvement of citizens' living standards and the development of economic activity at the top of its priorities.

"Our primary foreign policy goals remain membership in the EU and NATO, and the promotion of the state of BiH to improve the image of our country on the international political scene and opening opportunities for attracting foreign investments," it is said in the statement.

One of the conclusions states that NiP monitors events related to state property, as well as messages sent to the public space by international and domestic officials.

"We support all efforts to reach the best solution in this area, but we remind you of the facts that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the owner of state property, that the new legal solution must be by the Constitution of BiH and that the decisions of the Constitutional Court on state property, as well as the Succession Agreement, which stipulates the ownership of the property to the State of BiH. We are not opposed to the part of the state property that will not be used by the state being used at the level of entities, municipalities, cities, but the holder remains the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina," they said.

It is added that NiP rejects ideas about the rehabilitation of war criminals and sides with the victims.

"Persons convicted of war crimes who have served prison sentences can be resocialized into society by their sincere repentance, recognition of the crime and honest attitude towards the victims. However, rehabilitation, which means any denial or celebration of crime, represents an anti-civilizational act," it is said in the statement.
