SARAJEVO, June 16 (FENA) – The US band 'Burn the Ballroom' will hold concerts in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time as part of the Arts Envoy program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United States of America, the US Embassy in BiH announced.
The concerts are planned for June 22 in Sarajevo at the Youth Center starting at 8 p.m., then for June 23 at 9 p.m. in Mostar on the Abrašević stage and for June 24 at 8 p.m. in Zelenkovac near Mrkonjić Grad. Band members will also hold several workshops with young people and musicians in Sarajevo and Mostar.
Their music combines anthem, rock, punk, alt and pop music. So far, the band has toured North Africa, the Middle East, Russia, Asia, Europe and the United States.
The Arts Envoy program works with United States embassies and consulates to engage American artists and cultural workers to participate in cultural exchange programs and thus present the best of American arts and culture to the world. Arts Envoy projects promote better understanding and cooperation of different cultures, common values and aspirations, which is also one of the goals of the US foreign policy.
