ČAPLJINA, June 19 (FENA) – Thirty families of displaced persons and returnees received keys to housing units in newly built multi-apartment buildings in Modrič settlement near Čapljina.
"We are here today to open two residential buildings that will accommodate 30 families. This is the largest project of its kind in the Herzegovina region, worth more than two million KM, but also the largest joint investment of Bosnia and Herzegovina and our European partners in this area," said FBiH Minister for Displaced Persons and Refugees Nerin Dizdar at the handover ceremony.
Multi-apartment buildings were built through the State Housing Project within the Regional Housing Program (DPSZ/RSP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He also referred to the fact that 28 years after the end of the war, the story of refugees and exiles is not yet over.
Mayor of Čapljina, Smiljan Vidić, thanked everyone who helped in the realization of this project, especially the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"Today we finished the regional housing program and it is implemented throughout BiH and provides housing for displaced persons and those who are socially vulnerable. Thirty families belonging to that category will get new apartments today. The value of the project is 2.7 million KM, of which the City of Čapljina participated with 323,000 KM, and the rest were donor funds, with great support from the FBiH Ministry for Displaced Persons and Refugees, the BiH Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees, and the Delegation of the European Union," said Vidić.
