Memorial Center Potočari - Burial of 30 genocide victims in Srebrenica held (VIDEO)

POTOČARI, July 11 (FENA) - In the cemetery of the Srebrenica Memorial Center - Potočari, a funeral prayer was held today and the burial of 30 victims of the genocide committed in the summer of 1995 in Srebrenica.

The funeral prayer was led by the reisul-ulema of the Islamic community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein-ef. Kavazovic.

He "urged us to look together today at these sights and rise above our fatal selfishness and conceit, reject quarrels and delusions that we will be saved if we bow our heads".

After an appropriate address and prayer to the martyrs, the coffins with the remains of 30 victims of the genocide were taken from Musalla to the cemetery where they were buried.

The youngest victim who was buried this year is the boy Elvir Salčinović, who was only 15 years old when he was killed. Apart from him, the remains of three other minors were buried this year. Semir Đozić was 17 years old at the time of his death, and sixteen-year-old boys Mustafa Mekanić and Esed Klempić were also buried.

The oldest victim is Nezir Muminović, who was 65 years old when he was killed.

The burial, mostly of incomplete remains of genocide victims, was attended by their families, a large number of citizens, political and public figures, as well as domestic and foreign delegations, as every year.
