FBiH MoI, UN Women and Gender Center continue cooperation on the empowerment of women

SARAJEVO, July 17 (FENA) - FBiH Minister of the Interior Ramo Isak held a meeting with the representative of the United Nations Agency for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment UN Women Jo-Anne Bishop and the director of the Gender Center of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ana Vuković and determined to continue cooperation in order to strengthen the fight against violence against women and domestic violence.

The interlocutors concluded that it is necessary to continue successful cooperation on activities aimed at empowering women and strengthening gender equality.

The representatives of the UN Women and Gender Center thanked Minister Isak for his support and expressed their belief that the extremely successful cooperation between the FBiH Ministry of the Interior, UN Women and the Gender Center of FBiH will continue in the future.

The interlocutors reminded that successful cooperation between the FBiH Ministry of the Interior and UN Women began in 2019.

The intention of the activities that were implemented in the past period was to improve the capacities of police officers for the application of the Istanbul Convention and relevant domestic legislation in the prevention of domestic violence in the Federation of BiH.
