SARAJEVO, July 21 (FENA) - Today, the Council of the Appellate Division of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will pronounce the second-instance verdict in the case of Zijad Mutap and others.

The defendants are accused of having committed the criminal offense of organized crime in connection with criminal offenses, illegal mediation, assisting the perpetrator after the criminal offense has been committed, preventing evidence and giving a false statement.

The defendants Zijad Mutap, Hasan Dupovac, Alisa Ramić, Josip Barić and Muamer Ožegović are accused, among other things, of joining an organized crime group, which was formed by Zijad Mutap in order to cover up the evidence of the way in which Dženan Memić received severe, life-threatening injuries on 8 February 2016, as a result of which he subsequently died.

By concealing evidence and perpetrators, faking evidence, and concealing facts known to them, they took actions with the aim of concealing the real way in which Dženan Memić received severe life-threatening injuries, all with the intention of concealing the real perpetrators and the real way in which Dženan Memić was injured, stated the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

All the accused in that case were acquitted in November 2022, and in March of this year, the Appellate Panel of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina annulled the first-instance verdict and ordered a new trial.
