Gazi Husrev-bey’s Madrasah celebrates 481th anniversary of continous work

SARAJEVO, January 8 (FENA) - Gazi Husrev-bey's Madrasah in Sarajevo today celebrated its 481st anniversary of continuous educational work.

At the solemn academy held on the occasion of the anniversary, the Madrasah awarded special acknowledgments for the affirmation of this educational institution to its alumni Mehmedalija Hadžić, former professor of the Gazi Husrev-bey’s Madrasah, and Safet Softić, Deputy Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Madrasah was founded in 1537 by Gazi Husrev-bey, the then Ottoman governor of Bosnia.
