SARAJEVO, January 10 (FENA) – The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) of BiH believes that yesterday’s marking of January 9th as the “Day of RS” represents a gross violation of the BiH Constitution and that it is a direct attack on the sovereignty of BiH and the rule of law.
“The responsible persons in the state and entity institutions that participated in this have ventured into the sphere of perpetration of a criminal offense. We urge the BiH Prosecutor’s Office to analyze this case and take the necessary measures,” said the SDA.
The party also said that the officials’ statements regarding the status of the RS entity as a state represent a direct attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement.
“RS has never been a state nor will it ever be one. It can only be a multiethnic entity within the state of BiH, in which the constitution and equality of the peoples before the law must be ensured, as well as human rights and equality for the citizens who live in it,” said the SDA.
They also want an answer from the official institutions of Republika Srpska, as one of the signatories to the Dayton Peace Agreement, on whose behalf the former Serbian President spoke at that gathering.
“The officials of Serbia and the entity of RS must be aware that by undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement, they also challenge the existence of the RS entity, because if the Dayton Agreement ceases to be valid, the first thing that will cease to exist are the entities created in the Dayton Agreement. An attack on the peace agreement is an attack on peace in the region,” the SDA warns.
