SARAJEVO, January 10 (FENA) – FBiH Minister of Finance Jelka Milićević said today in Sarajevo that her ministry, in line with the Work Plan for 2017 that follows the Reform Agenda and the FBiH Government’s Action Plan, was dedicated to maintaining financial stability, efficient managing of external and internal debt, creation of a more favorable environment for business, and reforms in the field of public finances, or fiscal sustainability.
Ms. Milićević stressed that the ministry adopted in 2017 important documents aimed at austerity measures in public spending, introduction of fiscal discipline and increase of fiscal transparency, as well as a clear strategic framework and macroeconomic policy goals, including the Economic and Fiscal Policy Guidelines for the period 2018-2020, FBiH Public Finance Management Reform Strategy for the period 2017-2020 and FBiH Framework Budget for the period 2018-2020.
She explained that the total public revenues in the FBiH in the year 2017 recorded an increase by seven percent compared to the previous year and amounted to 8.25 billion KM.
She underlined that in 2017 there was a decrease in the debt of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by 632.98 million KM, out of which 510.68 million KM was spent on the reduction of external debt, while the remaining 122.30 million KM was used for the reduction of domestic debt.
