French Ambassador Rousson visits National and University Library of BiH

SARAJEVO, January 11 (FENA) – The National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina (NULBiH) was visited on Thursday by French Ambassador to BiH Guillaume Rousson and Counselor for Cooperation and Culture and Director of French Institute, Emmanuel Mouriez, who met with the Director of NUBBiH, Ismet Ovčina, and his associates.

They discussed the cooperation of this institution with the international organization of ISSN, headquartered in Paris.

Mr. Ovčina presented to Mr. Rousson and Mr. Mouriez the publications of NULBiH, the creation of library collections, the old periodicals and special collections, the Old Periodicals reading room, the Special Collections reading room, the catalog, the Center for Digitization, as well as the Center for Restoration and Conservation of Library Materials.

He also underlined the unresolved legal and financial status of NULBiH and other six cultural institutions founded by Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated the NULBiH Director’s Office.

Mr. Rousson and Mr. Mouriez expressed their interest in cooperation with NULBiH, which would be realized through possible projects, exhibitions, literary evenings and publications.
