SARAJEVO, January 16 (FENA) - A meeting, in which the highest state and entity officials will try to agree on the responses to the remaining seven questions from the European Commission Questionnaire, has begun today in East Sarajevo.
The meeting is attended by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdić, State Minister of Finance and Treasury, Vjekoslav Bevanda, and entity Prime Ministers and Finance Ministers, who at the end of last year agreed on most of the answers from the Questionnaire.
Mr. Zvizdić then said that the remaining questions referred to a group of economic criteria where it was necessary to present socio-economic data for the period from 2006 to 2015 in relation to the population according to gender, age and regional distribution.
“The second question refers to chapter 24. Here we have two related questions, one about the role and contribution of the intelligence and security services and whether BiH faces any form of terrorism; it is also necessary to state the number of persons who have been indicted and convicted of acts of terrorism,” added Mr. Zvizdić at that time.
Also, a set of four questions comes from the "Political Criteria" group, and the first one is to provide a clear description of the jurisdiction and procedure of selection of the head of state, whether there are any special conditions for their election and whether they have the right of veto in the decision-making process.
The European Commission has delivered to Bosnia and Herzegovina a Questionnaire consisting of 3,242 questions to which representatives of all levels of government in BiH need to answer. This process has lasted for over a year and is an important step on the path of BiH towards membership in the European Union.
