SARAJEVO, January 17 (FENA) – Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić had a working lunch today with a delegation from the Republic of Croatia headed by President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović with whom he discussed bilateral relations and improvement of cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Zvizdić informed the Croatian President about the level of implementation of BiH’s commitments agreed upon in the European agenda and expressed the belief that in the coming period Croatia would lobby for Bosnia and Herzegovina to obtain candidate status in the European Union as soon as possible.
President Grabar-Kitarović said that the Republic of Croatia was BiH’s friend and that it genuinely wanted BiH’s progress in European and NATO integration. She also shared Croatia’s experiences on this path and said that BiH’s membership in the EU was important to Croatia and that BiH could use the positive experiences of the Republic of Croatia.
The officials agreed that the dialogue between the neighbors, sharing the border more than a thousand kilometers long, is the best way to build good neighborly relations and that in the coming period it is necessary to strengthen cooperation in order to stabilize the relations between the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by BiH Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda, BiH Minister of Human Rights and Refugees Semiha Borovac, BiH Defense Minister Marina Pendeš and BiH Ambassador to Republic of Croatia Renata Paškalj, the BiH Council of Ministers said.
