MOSTAR/SARAJEVO, January 26 (FENA) - A delegation of the HDZ 1990, with President Ilija Cvitanovic at the head, met in Sarajevo with the Head of the European Union Delegation and EU Special Representative in BiH, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.
The topic of the meeting was the current political situation in BiH, as well as the European path of BiH and the Euro-Atlantic integrations, with a special emphasis put on changes of the Election Law, says the statement issued by the HDZ 1990.
President of HDZ 1990, Ilija Cvitanovic; a delegate of HDZ 1990 to the BiH Parliament, Diana Zelenika; and HDZ 1990 International Secretary, Ante Jankovic, made Ambassador Wigemark familiar with the stands of the party regarding changes of the Election Law. On the occasion, they clearly pointed out that cosmetic changes of the Law proposed by some parties were neither a solution nor acceptable for HDZ 1990.
"HDZ1990 is committed to honest addressing the issue of legitimate representation of Croats in the FBiH and RS as well as the problems of legitimate representation of Serbs in FBiH and Bosniaks in the RS. It is unacceptable that Croats in RS could not invoke vital national interest”, it was pointed out during the meeting.
Cvitanovic underlined that HDZ 1990 advocated for amending the Election Law in accordance with the ruling of the Constitutional Court.
- We will persist in imposing our stands with the aim to achieve the electoral equality of all Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which implies struggling for the rights of Croats in RS , Posavina, Western Herzegovina, Zenica, Tuzla, Sarajevo, therefore in all areas where Croats live- Cvitanovic said, expressing his regret over the conduct of both the authorities and the opposition, who, as he said, only declaratively advocated for the European path of BiH, says the statement.
