SREBRENICA, February 2 (FENA) – The SDA Srebrenica Committee in its public statement strongly condemned the behavior of Srebrenica Municipality Mayor Mladen Grujičić, who organized a reception for Milan Jolović, the commander of the wartime unit “Vukovi sa Drine” (“Wolves of the Drina”), who participated in the genocide against Bosniaks of the UN Srebrenica “Safe Area”.
The SDA considers that such behavior and the activities of the Mayor do not contribute to the building of peace, coexistence, tolerance and understanding among the citizens of the Srebrenica Municipality.
“In this way, Mr. Grujičić aligns himself with one side, the side of those who have participated in the genocide, not the side of the victims and all the citizens in this city. Unfortunately, the Mayor has sided with those who are carrying out the final stage of genocide, which implies the denial of genocide and glorification of the perpetrators of genocide,” the party said.
They expect of all Bosniaks elected to the Assembly of Srebrenica Municipality to consistently stand in defense of the victims of genocide and defense of the interests of Bosniaks in the Assembly. From those who, as they say, follow the policy of Mayor Grujičić's policy in the Srebrenica Municipal Assembly, they demand that they stop, and to instead be guided by the interests of those who have elected and appointed them.
“The SDA demands that judicial institutions more speedily, thoroughly and comprehensively prosecute participants in the genocide against Bosniaks in the UN Srebrenica ‘Safe Zone’,” concludes the statement of the SDA Srebrenica Committee.
