SARAJEVO, February 9 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mahmoud Heidari organized a reception in Sarajevo on the occasion of marking the National Day of Iran, attended by a large number of political, cultural and religious life personalities in BiH.
This day marks the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, whose goal was, as the Ambassador said, rejecting despotism, dictatorship and dependence, but with the idea of reviving human and Islamic values.
"It has brought independence, freedom and religious democracy to the Iranian people. Now that almost four decades have passed since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the people of Iran take pride in their achievements in the scientific, economic, industrial and cultural fields," Mr. Heidari said.
He believes that relations between the two countries have been maintained at an adequate level in recent years and reiterated Iran's position on foreign policy, saying that it is based on supporting the consolidation of peace and stability in the Western Balkans, especially in BiH.
Ambassador Heidari expressed the clear support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for territorial integrity, state sovereignty and the sincere and peaceful coexistence of all peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
