Ramić - Koç: Turkey's support to returnee communities is invaluable

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, February 12 (FENA) - The FBiH Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Edin Ramić received today the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina Haldun Koç.

Minister Ramič and Ambassador Koç discussed the cooperation between the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey and the strengthening economic and other relations between the two friendly countries.

The two officials also talked about the visit of Minister Ramić to Ankara, where he will meet with the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Esref Fakibaba on February 14.

“The role and noble interest of Turkey in helping the returnees and strengthening their communities is invaluable,” said Ramić.

He also stressed that one of the main proposals presented at the meeting in Ankara will be the formation of livestock breeding centers in larger returnee communities.

“We will develop a master plan and have the most serious approach to this important project, through which the cooperation will be further improved, among other things, through the reduction of the monopoly in export, in order for the returnees to have the greatest benefits.

Also, our proposal is to provide an option of service breeding to returnees because they do not have the necessary initial livestock funds, and they have the workforce and the will to participate in the project,” said Ramić.

Ambassador Koç pointed out that many activities have been intensified lately between Turkey and BiH, among other things, the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade transport link, and the final goal is that the trade between the two countries rises up to one billion dollars a year."

“In addition to full political support for the rule of democracy and sovereignty of BiH, as well as cooperation in the field of cultural exchange, economic and trade cooperation is of great importance as well. Export of BiH meat products on the Turkish market at today's meeting was confirmed as an example of positive practice, which can be further developed, for which the institutions of both countries expressed their commitment,” said Ambassador Koç.
