SARAJEVO, February 13 (FENA) – Minister and Deputy Ministers of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marina Pendeš, Sead Jusić and Boris Jerinić met today with a delegation of the United States of America led by Deputy Commander of the US Land Force Command in Europe for Army Reserve and National Guard, Major General John Gronski.
They discussed the efforts and challenges facing BiH defense institutions on the Euro-Atlantic path, the activities aimed at activating the MAP, strengthening the capacities of the BiH Armed Forces, cooperation between the USA and BiH in the field of defense, and forms of cooperation in the future.
The top officials of the BiH Defense Ministry expressed their gratitude for the visit of General Gronski, which once again confirmed the US’s consistency in the conduct of policy of support and dedication to BiH.
BiH, as the collocutors stressed, remains committed to Euro-Atlantic integration, and the MAP activation for BiH is imperative, and not just for BiH, but also for the Euro-Atlantic community.
They expressed special gratitude to the US for the overall assistance that is being implemented through the Mil-to-Mil bilateral cooperation programs, through the Maryland State Partnership program, through the IMET Education Program, as well as material and financial assistance through the FMF Program.
Ms. Pendeš informed Mr. Gronski about activities and efforts undertaken related to the registration of promising military assets, which is also a condition for activating the MAP.
Ms. Pendeš stressed that the BiH Ministry of Defense had made a significant step forward in this process and expressed the expectation that BiH would soon access the MAP.
Mr. Gronski expressed US’s commitment and support to BiH and gave positive remarks to the commitment toward Euro-Atlantic integration, stated the BiH MoD PR Office.
