SARAJEVO, February 14 (FENA) - Any kind of violation of rule of law should be punished both publicly but also within institutions, said Ambassador of Italy to BiH Nicola Minasi today, commenting intentions of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska to buy 2 500 guns for the needs of this ministry.

Addressing at a press conference in Sarajevo, where priorities of Italy were presented as Chair of the Organization for Security and Cooperation of Europe (OSCE), Ambassador stressed the need for a systemic check to secure that human rights are respected and laws followed.

"Everything comes down to how the equipment will be used, if rule of law and inspection system between police and judiciary is respected," emphasized Ambassador Minasi.

Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Bruce Berton added there will be more information that will provide better explanation on why the weapons are being procured.
