FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, February 21 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Ognjen Tadić received today in an inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to BiH Reinout Caspar Vos.

Ambassador Vos was interested in the general political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the light of BiH's EU integration process and the new EU Strategy for the Western Balkans region.

The topic of the meeting was also the amendments to the Election Law of BiH, as well as the amendments to the BiH Constitution regarding the European Court of Human Rights judgment in the Sejdić and Finci case.

Speaking about the amendments to the Election Law, Tadić emphasized that it is necessary to relax the atmosphere that, these days, only serves to engage voters of certain political parties.

Tadić underlined the importance of establishing the rule of law as one of the most important prerequisites for a stronger development of economy and bringing investors from the Netherlands and other European Union countries to BiH, stated the BiH PA.
