BiH CoM Chairman Zvizdić meets with Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl

SARAJEVO, February 22 (FENA) - Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdić received today in Sarajevo the Minister of European Affairs, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Karin Kneissl, with whom he discussed the improvement of bilateral relations and the European path of BiH.

The collocutors noted that the relations between the two friendly countries were good and without open issues. Chairman Zvizdić informed Minister Kneissl about the reform processes and the European path of BiH. He said that after the stagnation period, this BiH Council of Ministers has initiated positive reform processes within the country and brought new energy into the European aspirations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which resulted in a successful completion of the responses to the EC Questionnaire.

Minister Kneissl expressed Austria's full support for the reform processes, the European path of BiH and the EU policy of enlargement to the countries of the Western Balkans. She emphasized that Austria supports the territorial integrity of the states, reconciliation, stability and the building of democratic societies in the Western Balkans. She added that Austria has special sensitivity towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, given the historical links and the fact that there are about 160,000 people from BiH living in Austria.

Chairman Zvizdić said that Austria was important for BiH in every respect, in economic, political, cultural and historical terms. He said that for a number of years the Austrian companies were the biggest investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed the expectation that this positive trend will be maintained, the BiH Council of Ministers said.
