BANJA LUKA, February 23 (FENA) - Member of the European Parliament and Rapporteur for BiH Cristian Dan Preda emphasized today that fight against corruption is the main condition for BiH to become a member of the European Union (EU).
"It is impossible for BiH to become a member of the EU with this level of corruption," warned Preda.
Another condition is free media and governments that work for their citizens, and not for their own interests.
Preda also emphasized there is a clear opportunity for countries of the Western Balkans in terms of the European integration and that this opportunity also refers to BiH.
He added that if BiH fulfills these conditions it could become a member in 2025, maybe even sooner.
Preda is taking part in the international ministerial conference on the European integration of BiH and countries of the region, which is organized by the BiH Foreign Ministry in Banja Luka.
