Members of BiH Presidency attend an audience with Pope Francis in Vatican

SARAJEVO, February 25 (FENA) - Chair of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović and members of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegović and Mladen Ivanić attended an audience with Pope Francis in Vatican and thanked him for reception and delivered regards from all peoples and citizens of BiH.

Members of the BiH Presidency talked to Pope Francis about the current situation and emphasized importance of improving political relations, intensifying reform process and fulfilling conditions to strengthen the European perspective of BiH.

Members of the BiH Presidency also thanked Pope Francis and the Holy See for their support to BiH and added they hope that support will continue in the future within progress towards the full membership in the EU.

After the audience, members of the BiH Presidency also met with Secretary of State of the Holy See Cardinal Pietro Parolin, where they emphasized that bilateral relations between BiH and the Holy See are friendly and that there is agreement on the most important political issues.

They emphasized that Basic Agreement between the Holy See and BiH remains permanent commitment of BiH, which it continues implementing.  

Cardinal Parolin emphasized that he Holy See supports BiH because a stable BiH with European perspective is in their interest as well, Presidency of BiH stated.
