MOSTAR, Feb 27 (FENA) - The first two-day Job Fair for students and graduating students in technical field was opened on Tuesday in Mostar, which creates direct contact between students and employers.
The Fair was organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Computing and Electrical Engineering of the Mostar University and the Student's Assembly of the Faculty.
The Fair is aimed at providing students with first contact and conversation with potential employers, thus encouraging communication and their early orientation in the selection of certain skills and competences.
Before the opening of the Fair, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Computing and Electrical Engineering, Zeljko Stojkic, said that this was a good opportunity to connect local employers and students, and thus try to find a common interest, i.e. what companies are looking for and what the students expect from them.
He explained that 22 companies from the field of mechanical engineering and computing were taking part in the Fair, adding that students will have the opportunity to speak directly with them.
He also announced the continuation of launching the Initiative for Incubator, with the aim to present ideas and business problems to the students, as well as to try to solve them.
- In this period students of Mechanical Engineering, Computing and Electrical Engineering perform their practice work in some companies. This year, we have 45 projects offered to our students by some companies, and today's event is an opportunity for interviews of these companies with the students who will perform their practical work in the next semester - Stojkic explained.
On the occasion, Assistant to the Rector for Teaching, Students and Legal Issues at he Mostar University, Vesna Kazazic, assessed that this was a very significant activity of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Computing and Electrical Engineering, adding that this is a big step forward in comparison what they have done so far.
She pointed out that one of the University's strategic goals was connection the with the economy and care for the destiny of graduate students.
Representative of the Students’ Assembly of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computing, Zdravko Grubesic , said that the Fair was important, because the students did not have experience with employers so far.
"Some of our workshops will help students to apply for a job, have a good interview, write CV and a motivational letter," he explained.
The Fair is held under the auspices of the Federal Employment Bureau.
