SARAJEVO, February 27 (FENA) - Deputy Head of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina Khaldoun Sinno reminded that tomorrow’s visit of EU high officials’ to BiH is part of the general tour in the Western Balkans since they are coming to BiH after visiting Montenegro, after BiH they are going to Pristina, and the tour will be concluded by a meeting of leaders in Sofia.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, European Commission Vice-President and High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn will arrive tomorrow, on February 28, when they will be officially presented with responses to the European Commission's Questionnaire.

Mr. Sinno said today in Sarajevo that they are all coming to visit with a very positive message which comes after the recent publication of the EU Strategy for the Western Balkans, and this message is, says Mr. Sinno, very clear that after the renewed dynamics in the European integration process, the EU's door is open, but only if all partners in the region are doing their part of the job.

“This also implies solving all open issues in all countries, including BiH, but not only when it comes to the rule of law, but also the issues of regional cooperation and reconciliation,” Mr. Sinno clarified.

He also commented on the issue of implementing all decisions of the BiH Constitutional Court when it comes to amending the Election Law, saying that the EU expects of the domestic politicians to agree on this issue, including the decision of the Constitutional Court on the appeal of Božo Ljubić, which has not been resolved and it will have to be.

“However, since the decision on this appeal has not been implemented, it is possible that it might have consequences for the whole of BiH when it comes to the implementation of the elections planned for October,” Mr. Sinno added.

However, he stressed that highlighting the need for the implementation of this decision does not mean disregarding any other decisions or judgments and he appealed to all stakeholders in this process to work together to find solutions in the spirit of compromise and in a way that will bring BiH closer, not further away, to the European standards.
