SARAJEVO, March 2 (FENA) - Members of the collegiums of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA), House of Peoples Chairperson Ognjen Tadić and his deputies Safet Softić and Bariša Čolak and House of Representatives Deputy Chairperson Šefik Džaferović met today with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif who is leading a delegation in a visit to BiH.
Thanking for the support Iran has provided and continues to provide to all peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the leaders of the BiH PA houses today expressed satisfaction with the fact that the relations between the two friendly countries are not being hindered by mutually unresolved issues, the BiH PA said.
However, they said, there is much room for improvement of economic cooperation between BiH and Iran, and one of the essential steps that can help in this process is certainly the presence of a group of entrepreneurs from Iran who participate as part of this delegation at a business forum and are able to learn closely about the potentials of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The collocutors also expressed the belief that efforts will be made in the near future to establish good business relations between BiH’s and Iranian banks currently taking place with the assistance of mediators. Also, according to the collocutors, one move that could better connect citizens of two friendly countries would be the liberalization of the visa regime.
Special attention was given to the cooperation between the parliaments of BiH and Iran, and an invitation has been issued for the Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to come to an official working visit to BiH.
