SARAJEVO, March 6 (FENA) - The United States Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Maureen Cormack and members of the Youth Council of the US Embassy announced today the beginning of the implementation of the "Univerziteti.ba" project, a comprehensive online database of all universities and faculties in BiH, the programs and learning opportunities.
Ambassador Cormack pointed out that the Council decided that the key issues of interest to them are quality learning and information on where to study and which programs to choose.
She explained that in the United States it is very easy to get information on which universities are the best, as well as the individual programs.
“The Youth Council's response to this problem is the "Univerziteti.ba" project which is very ambitious, but simple. The idea is that all students in BiH are provided with free and open access to information on ways of studying and learning and the best programs offered by universities,” said Cormack.
In order for the site to function, Cormack added that it is necessary to have a genuine partnership between the Youth Council, the universities, students and local communities.
Thanks to the hard work of the members of the Council, Ambassador Cormack said that about 40 percent of universities and faculties in BiH have been involved in the project and invited the remaining 60 percent to become part of this partnership. so that the site becomes truly functional and purposeful for young people who want to study.
The Youth Council Coordinator Sonja Kesić said that the Council is an informal body founded in 2015 with the aim of gathering young leaders in order for them to work together on solving the numerous problems that young people face in the country.
