BRCKO, Mar 9 (FENA) – Within the technical visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of the World Bank paid a visit to the Brcko District of BiH on Friday, where they met with the BD Mayor Sinisa Milic, Deputy Mayor Anto Domic, and representatives of departments and institutions of the Brcko District.
The aim of the visit was to discuss with the relevant parties the scope of the proposed Regional Program for the Integrated Development of the Corridors of the Sava River and the Drina River, the initiative discussed in the context of the Commission for the Sava River Basin, says the statement issued by the Brcko District Government.
On this occasion, the Brcko District of BiH presented the project priorities related to the implementation of the program, divided into five areas: flood management, rigid waste management, technical assistance, development of the port and transport, with the aim of cooperation that will yield concrete results as a progress in a better quality life that will be felt by all citizens of the Brcko District.
During the visits of the representatives of the World Bank to Bosnia and Herzegovina the topics of the talks were the state water strategies, action plans and priority interventions that could contribute to the agendas of regional cooperation and the development of an integrated program for the Sava and Drina river corridors.
The mission is led by a Senior Water Resources Management Expert and Team Leader Javier Zuleta, Water Resources Expert and Deputy Team Leader Igor Palandzic, Senior Operations Officer Mirjana Karahasanovic, Guy Alaerts River Basin Consultant, and Trui Paints Uyttendaele Water Resources Consultant, says the statement.
