BOSANSKA GRADIŠKA, March 9 (FENA) - Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark announced for the next week the signing of an agreement for a bridge construction on the Sava river near Bosanska Gradiška.

Mr. Wigemark, who today hosted the fifth debate “EU visits local communities”, held in Bosanska Gradiška, said that the construction of this bridge was of special importance for economic progress and new investments.

"This bridge, when it is built, will contribute to the strengthening of commercial activities, ensure better transport, easier crossing of the border between BiH and Croatia and improve communication among people," he said.

For BiH, it is crucial, Mr. Wigemark added, to continue to progress in European integration, and that everyone participates in this process because it is not something lead only by the political leaders and bureaucrats.

The experts for socioeconomic and sustainable development from Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in the debate in Gradiška.

The Office of the EU Special Representative in BiH (EUSR) has launched the project "Local Community Takes Initiative" within which he will visit 15 local communities in BiH and hold public debates on the role of the local community, challenges and opportunities offered by the EU accession process.
