Zvizdić - Zaev: Enhance cooperation for the well-being of citizens

SARAJEVO, March 12 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić met in Skopje today with Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia Zoran Zaev and talked to him about enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries.  

They also talked about improving of political relations and cooperation in the European integration process, economic relations and strengthening trade exchange, and current regional issues and processes.

They concluded that institutional cooperation between BiH and Macedonia is on a high level, considering that over 50 bilateral and 10 multiralteral agreements have been signed, but the economic cooperation is behind and focus in the upcoming period should be on strengthening relations between business communities.

Chairman Zvizdić said that BiH is interested in cooperation in areas of metal, wood, food and textile industry. He welcomed the idea to form a BiH-Macedonia club and fully supported business forums and meetings of businessmen from BiH and Macedonia because it is of mutual interest. He added that BiH and Macedonia share common goals, which is aspiration towards the EU and NATO and both countries are working on reforms to accelerate economic development and improve standard of living.

Chairman Zvizdić welcomed announcement of Prime Minister Zaev that regular lessons in Bosnian language for children from Bosniak community will be introduced in Macedonia as of next school year.

They also talked about modalities of establishing a direct flight between Skopje and Sarajevo to make communication easier and accelerate flow of people and goods.

After the meeting, plenary meeting was held between delegations of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Government of the Republic of Macedonia, where agreement was signed on conditions of travel of citizens of the two states with IDs. Agreement was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak and Minister of Interior of Macedonia Nikola Dimitrov.

Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Adil Osmanović and Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia Renata Deskoska signed a Protocol on Cooperation in education between Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH and Ministry of Education of the Republic of Macedonia, BiH CoM stated.
