SARAJEVO, March 13 (FENA) - Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative to BiH Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark stated in Sarajevo last night that we are all aware how important it is what art can do to help people communicate.
"What is different and what you have here in BiH is a very dynamic theater scene. It tells a story in its own way," said Ambassador Wigemark during discussion on whether art is a creator or a follower of changes in society – theater as generator of changes, which was organized by the EU Info Center in Sarajevo.
Directors Dino Mustafić and Nermin Hamzić and actor Ermin Bravo, as well as young people from BiH cities took part in this cultural event.
Ambassador Wigemark underlined that the European Union is committed to help activities in this area, noting this is a year of cultural heritage.
"Theater is very important for education, especially of young people. I am happy so many of you are interested in this debate. We can say that theater can communicate emotions and feelings that are difficult to communicate in everyday communication or maybe in a written form," concluded Ambassador Wigemark.
EU Info Center of BiH is organizing series of cultural-thematic events on engaged art and is trying to answer a question through discussions with artists whether their engagement can bring changes in society today.
Last-night's debate was attended by young people from Foča, Goražde, Ilijaš, Breza, Sarajevo, Istočno Sarajevo and other BiH cities.
This is the third cultural event of this kind held in premises of the EU Info Center in Sarajevo.
