Islamic Community in BiH condemns verbal attack on Bishop Komarica

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 14 (FENA) - "The Islamic Community in BiH condemns the RS President's verbal attacks on the Bishop Monsignor Franjo Komarica," the Riyasat PR Office stated today.

The statement goes on to say:

“Religious authorities have the right and freedom to publicly speak about all the problems that members of their communities face, without being insulted because of it, especially from the position of power.

It is unacceptable that in such a brutal way, as the RS President did in his last public speech, the victims and those who only seek the minimum of human dignity and a chance to live freely with respect to their rights on the land of their ancestors are trying to be silenced. It is not in the spirit of basic human decency that a political official says for a religious figure that he “barks”.

Solidarity with Bishop Komarica is in fact the defense of all of us from political power. A power that cannot be a measure of truth and justice and will not bring any good to this country and its people,” the statement reads, MINA reports.
