BANJA LUKA, March 14 (FENA) – BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Crnadak, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to BiH Edward Ferguson and his wife, member of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar Organizing Committee Caroline Ferguson, today supported associations that provide assistance to children and people with Down syndrome and developmental disorders.
After visiting the Banja Luka Center "Give Us a Chance – Little Stars", Mr. Crnadak pointed to the energy that both these associations show for children and their families.
“I was visiting this association a few months ago and some progress is already visible, which shows that they are constantly moving forward and opening new opportunities for children,” said Mr. Crnadak.
He thanked Caroline Ferguson for helping these associations and appealing to all levels of government that they also support the work of such centers through their humanitarian activities.
Caroline Ferguson, a member of the Organizing Committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, emphasized that with the professional support, these children can progress.
She reminded that about 200,000 KM was collected at the Winter Diplomatic Bazaar in 2017, and that they could support 19 organizations with that money, among them Banja Luka's "Little Stars".
Ana Nikolić, representative of the Association "DownSy and Us" (Downsy i mi), pointed out that thanks to good people and donations, this organization has been implementing a project of speech therapy treatments for children with Down syndrome for three years now.
The project encompasses 20 children, aged 18 months to 16 years old, assisted by four speech therapists.
Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to BiH Edward Ferguson has supported the work of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar and humanitarian activity to support these and similar associations.
