SARAJEVO, March 14 (FENA) - The Bosniak Cultural Society "Preporod" and the Association for the Protection of the Heritage of the Defense and Liberation War of BiH gathered today in Sarajevo at the roundtable on the topic "Aggression on the Truth about the Defense of the Republic of BiH", because they believe it is necessary to talk about the truth about the defense of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the destructive goals of hegemonic and anti-Bosnian policies that, as they state, are still active to this today in public arena with the intent of equaling those who defended themselves and the aggressor.
The BiH Presidency Member Bakir Izetbegović expressed gratitude to the organizers because, as he said, they recognized the worrying trend and the dangerous intentions of relativizing the truth, equaling of the sides in the war, stigmatizing the defenders, that is, but this time focusing on the truth about the defense of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“This is an important topic, it is dangerous phenomenon and we must recognize it and define the conspiracy that threatens to overrun the most valuable asset we have - the truth about the aggression and suffering of the Bosnian patriots, the incredible resistance that they rendered to the brutal and disproportionately stronger attacker, finally, the purity of our struggle. Defenders of BiH have preserved the unity of the country, but not only that - they have preserved their face, honor and dignity of a Bosnian man,” stressed Izetbegović.
Izetbegović points out that the truth is the first thing that is sacrificed in war. Propaganda always removes that shield the first, it satanizes and tarnished the other side, in order to justify the reasons for the attack.
“To defend the truth about our struggle, in our case means to defend Bosnia and Herzegovina from new conflicts, to preserve the progress achieved and to enable it to further stabilize with new reforms and integration steps. The truth about the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina which happened 25 years ago is now also under attack, but also the truth about the current situation and relations in the state and the nation. This is also logical, because it is a part of the same attack, coming from the same centers, having the same goals and being inspired by the same nationalistic ideologies. What changes and adjusts are only the methods, tactics, actors, and the intensity,” underlined Izetbegović.
