SARAJEVO, March 19 (FENA) - Deputies of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly adopted a motion of no confidence to the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, led by cantonal PM Elmedin Konaković.
Twenty deputies supported the no confidence vote, ; three were against, while 11 deputies abstained from voting.
Independent MP Elmedin Okerić spoke about the improvement of the situation in the Canton, stressing that the Government of the SC wanted to improve the policies so that the citizens would have a better standard of living.
"We should vote in the interest of citizens because this canton has not had a better government," he said.
‘Our Party’ MP Predrag Kojović said that it was not difficult to be better than the previous government because that one was horrible.
“Our biggest criticism is in the fact that Konaković protected his ministers in his government with his charm, but we are aware that SDA is not dismissing Konaković because he did not do something, but because he began to publically speak about the functioning of the party,” said Kojović and concluded that they did not want to take part in it.
Elmedin Konakovic said the MPs are trying to make a spectacle of the whole thing to exempt themselves from responsibility.
He believes his dismissal has grounds in terms of politics, but that he has been persistent against individuals who have not been doing their job.
“As of today, the deputies are responsible for the situation. You vote at the order of your bosses, but you have the right to vote against me,” Konaković said.
He said that he did his job honorably and honestly and that he had many enemies in the process of solving the problems in the Canton.
“The public enterprise ZOI 84 was the last straw. It is burdened with criminal activity and we are all accomplices. The SC Road Directorate is also full of criminals. I do not even care how you vote today,” Konaković said.
