MOSTAR, Mar 21 (FENA) - The United World College in Mostar will host the12th conference of the United Nations Model -MUNiM 2018, intended for secondary school students from the region and throughout the world. The conference will be held from 22 to 25 March.
The topic of this year's conference, which will involve 150 participants from over 30 countries, is "Political Activities and the Vision of the Future".
The honorary guest of this year's MUNiM, French Ambassador to BiH Guillaume Rousson, will attend the official opening ceremony which will take place on Thursday with the beginning at 17:00 hrs in the building of the federal institutions in Mostar.
On Sunday, at 9:30 am, a final ceremony will be held in the Federation Government building in Mostar, with the presence of the Head of the OSCE Regional Office in Mostar, William Ozkaptan, and EUFOR Lot Mostar Commander, Claudio Wiederkehr.
On that occasion, all attendees will be presented with certificates and acknowledgments for participation in the conference.
Over the three days, students will discuss a range of current world issues through the work in the MUN committees and councils - the Security Council, the Environment Council, the EU Commission, the Commission on Social and Humanitarian Affairs and the Disarmament Commission.
The MUN conference organized by the UWC Mostar is the largest conference of this kind for high school students in BiH. Besides having impact on global issues and development of the skills of public appearance, the conference brings closer young people from different parts of the Balkans and gives all participants the opportunity to abandon stereotypes and achieve open interethnic friendships.
The MUN Conference 2018 was supported by the UNDP in BiH and Sarajevo Insurance d.d., says the statement issued by the organizers.
