Meeting on exploration of oil and gas in FBiH held

SARAJEVO, March 27 (FENA) - At the initiative of the FBiH Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, a meeting was held in the FBiH Ministry of Environment in Sarajevo in connection with further activities in the realization of the project of exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The delegations at the meeting were headed by FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić and FBiH Minister of Environment and Tourism Edita Đapo, the FBiH Government Office for Public Relations stated.

The collocutors agreed that the Ministry of Environment and Tourism shall appoint an expert commission that will start drafting a project task for the preparation of a strategic environmental impact assessment study for the continuation of the oil and gas exploration in the FBiH.

The expert commission will draft the project task on the basis of which the Government will adopt the contents of the strategic environmental impact assessment study for oil and gas exploration and exploitation, and based on the project task, a strategic environmental impact assessment will be carried out.
