SARAJEVO, March 28 (FENA) - The Council of Ministers of BiH today supported a proposal for a financing agreement (Corridor 5-C, Mostar South) between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Investment Bank (EIB) worth 100 million euros.
The funds are intended for the construction of a new section of the 20.9 kilometers long motorway, including three sub-sections, Buna - Počitelj, Kvanj - Buna Tunnel and Mostar South - Kvanj Tunnel.
The new road is located in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and is part of the Pan-European Corridor 5-C that connects Hungary and Eastern Croatia with BiH and the Adriatic Sea in the area of the Port of Ploče.
This is a loan allocated to the Federation of BiH, with a repayment period of 25 years, including six years of grace period.
The total estimated cost of the project is EUR 227 million, of which EUR 100 million is a loan from EIB, EUR 60 million loan from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EUR 39 million investment grant from WBIF and own funds (Federation of BiH and the Motorway of FBiH ) 28 million euros, stated the Council of Ministers of BiH.
