Communication Coordinator of the Center for Development and Support (CRP) Tuzla, Alma Tihić pointed out in a statement to FENA that the project is being realized in partnership with organizations the Center for Development and Support Tuzla from BiH, SMART Collective from Serbia, ECO Consciousness from Macedonia, EDEN Center from Albania and ‘Slap’ Association from Croatia.

“The development of a modern society is based on green economy. Environmental awareness represents the necessary basis for further, sustainable development and environmental protection,” said Tihić.

She also emphasized that environment improvement and protection are one of the crucial global goals of contemporary society.

Tihić believes that solving this problem requires, among other, the search for ways to rationally and wisely use natural resources, as well as ways to conduct an active demographic policy and to develop and improve international cooperation in the field of scientific research.

“A new kind of attitude towards the environment, as well as the transformation of the spirit of the modern labor ethic, becomes an imperative. The concept of sustainable development offers the possibility of harmonious development,” she said.

In order for Bosnia and Herzegovina to pay more attention to environmental protection, Tihić says that besides the systemic solution of environmental problems, it is necessary to work with citizens through various activities s and campaigns in order to adopt the key legislation regulating this area.

The project is funded by the European Union under the Civil Society and Media Support Program for 2016-2017.
