SARAJEVO, April 5 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegović received letters of credence from the newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to BiH Hideyuki Sakamoto, the BiH Presidency said.
Mr. Sakamoto conveyed the greetings of the King of Japan and expressed hope that friendly and well-intentioned relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan would be further strengthened.
Mr. Izetbegović thanked for the very important assistance of Japan in the renewal of Bosnia and Herzegovina and pointed out that Japan was one of the most important donors in BiH.
In the continuation of the ceremony, Chairman Izetbegović informed the newly appointed Ambassador Sakamoto about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a special emphasis on the Euro-Atlantic path of the country.
The collocutors agreed that bilateral relations between BiH and Japan were good, without open issues, and that there is a mutual will for their improvement in all fields of common interest, particularly in the field of economic cooperation, by increasing trade.
Ambassador Sakamoto emphasized that he would make additional efforts to further strengthen inter-state relations through dialogue and cooperation in other spheres such as culture, sport and tourism.
Chairman Izetbegović wished the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan a successful mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed the conviction that overall bilateral relations would be enhanced during his mandate.
