SARAJEVO, April 12 (FENA) - The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was not large in the number of its soldiers, but it was certainly one of the great armies in the history of warfare, BiH Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegović said at the Shahid cemetery Kovači in Sarajevo.
Mr. Izetbegović today paid respects and laid flowers for the Shahids and fallen soldiers of the RBiH Army on the occasion of marking the 13th anniversary of the 2nd Infantry (Ranger) Regiment of the BiH Armed Forces and the 26th anniversary of the Army of RBiH.
“The RBiH Army resisted a far more powerful, brutal aggressor, it managed to come away with a tie in that fight and definitely had the moral victory,” Mr. Izetbegović emphasized.
He pointed out that the Shahids and fallen soldiers gave their lives for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Paying of respects, laying of flowers and reciting the prayer for the fallen soldiers at the Shahid cemetery Kovači in Sarajevo was part of the activities on the occasion of marking the 13th anniversary of the 2nd Infantry (Ranger) Regiment of the BiH Armed Forces and the 26th anniversary of the Army of RBiH, attended by representatives of government institutions of BiH, the Federation of BiH, cantons, municipalities and representatives of veterans’ organizations.
