SARAJEVO, April 12 (FENA) - We will certainly not spend money on buying rocket systems, aircraft and spend hundreds of millions of dollars and euros, but we will be cover the entire range of arms production, said Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegović.
“We will be making a self-propelled howitzer, we have already made a rifle, we will be making drones, we will cover the production of every kind of ammunition. We will be doing this for the market, but also to have just in case,” Mr. Izetbegović said, responding to a journalist’s question on whether the FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić’s statement on covering the entire range of arms production in the FBiH was reckless.
He said that “the statement was not reckless but encouraging.”
“Why would BiH not have a full-range arms industry and the production of gun-powder and primers,” Mr. Izetbegović told reporters after marking the 13th anniversary of the 2nd Infantry (Ranger) Regiment of the BiH Armed Forces and the 26th anniversary of the Army of RBiH at the Shahidi Cemetery Kovači.
