SARAJEVO, April 25 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegović said today during a speech given to participants and guests of the Sarajevo Business Forum that the number of employed persons in BiH had increased by 50,000 in the last three years and that the unemployment had been steadily declining.
He added that the GDP had recorded growth thanks to the initiated reforms, as well as that BiH has recorded export growth and reduced public spending.
“All important funds are stable and state level and the Federation of BiH can function without borrowing from the IMF,” Mr. Izetbegović said.
He said that BiH was very rich in water intended for bottling, coal, forests, strong winds and numerous types of ore, and has significant oil deposits that need to be further explored and prepared for exploitation.
Also, Mr. Izetbegović said that BiH, among other things, offered a long industrial tradition, educated and disciplined workforce, a stable currency bound to the euro, the rights of foreign investors equated with the domestic ones.
“Having in mind all this, I would like to say that now is the time for investors to come to Bosnia and Herzegovina, because the efforts that are currently being made could in the near future be returned several times over,” Mr. Izetbegović stressed.
